Treat your guests to a journey on the new “Salon suisse” saloon coach and travel to Ticino like heads of state.
You’ll feel like a head of state on board the “Salon suisse” saloon coaches, which are used both for official state receptions as well as the election ceremonies for the presidents of the National Council, the Council of States and the Confederation.
The two saloon coaches can be combined with additional coaches (e.g. 1st class coaches). The journey takes you from Zurich via Zug, along Lake Zug with sublime views of the Rigi, and then to Arth-Goldau and Brunnen. Between Brunnen and Flüelen, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of Lake Lucerne and Lake Uri over and over again.
The famous Gotthard route begins in Erstfeld. You have a choice of route here: either a 20-minute ride through the 57-kilometre-long Base Tunnel (the fast route) or travel the mountain route with a total of seven helical tunnels (the picturesque route) to reach sunny Ticino. Can’t make your mind up? Then go through the Base Tunnel one way and take the mountain route on the other!
