Class upgrade for business travel.

If you purchased your ticket or 2nd class travelcard via SBB Business Customers, you have the option of buying a class upgrade. The following offers are available to you:
Do you have a ticket or travelcard for 2nd class and want to travel in 1st class for a change? Then buy a class upgrade for your desired route via the SBB Mobile app or here on sbb.ch/en/business.
If you have a Half Fare Travelcard or GA Travelcard, you can purchase a class upgrade at half price. To do so, select the ‘Half Fare Travelcard’ discount during the purchase. If you do not have a Half Fare Travelcard or a GA Travelcard, purchase the class upgrade at full price. In this case, select ‘No discount’ during the purchase.
Please note that you must purchase the class upgrade before the train departs.
The 1-day class upgrade lets you travel in 1st class for one day within the GA Travelcard area of validity. It is valid until 5am the following morning.
The 1-day class upgrade is available with a 2nd class GA Travelcard or with a Half Fare Travelcard plus a Day Pass (Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Saver Day Pass).
If you want to change classes several time, the convenient Multiple Day Class Upgrade comprising six 1-day class upgrades is available.
The GA Travelcard lets you benefit from two other class upgrades

If you hold a 2nd class GA Travelcard, you can purchase a 1-month class upgrade for an entire month.

Permanent class upgrade.
You can exchange your 2nd class GA Travelcard for a 1st class GA Travelcard at any time during its period of validity. You will be credited the corresponding amount for the time left on your 2nd class GA Travelcard. If you purchased your GA Travelcard via SBB Business Customers, you can apply for the exchange via the refund request form.
Please note: any GA Travelcards Plus that are linked to your 2nd class GA Travelcard will also be cancelled and must be purchased again at the new basic 1st class GA Travelcard price.
