Forgotten SwissPass login.

You can click on ‘Forgotten your password?’ under ‘Sign in’ on swisspass.ch. Enter your e-mail address and request a new password.

I’ve forgotten my login for international tickets.

You can request the username or password again. To do this, you’ll need the e-mail address that you entered when registering.

Login forgotten for the old SBB Business Ticket Shop (for tickets to Europe):

• A current internet browser or the SBB Mobile app.
• A computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
• A SwissPass login.
• Your contract number for SBB Business Customers. You can get the number from the travel manager at your company.
• A PDF reader and a printer if you wish to print your ticket.

1. Sign in with your SwissPass login. 
2. When signing in, you can select to do so as a business customer. 
3. You can then purchase your desired tickets or travelcards by searching in the timetable or via the ‘Travelcards & tickets’ tab > ‘Online purchase’ option.

Please note that you will need a separate login to purchase certain tickets to Europe.

Via the SBB Mobile app.

1. Sign into the app using your SwissPass login.
2. Do you pay by credit card? Check if you have saved a business credit card in ‘Payment method’ under ‘Settings’. If you pay using a different payment method such as invoicing or direct debit, the payment method won’t be listed (‘No payment method found’) but will be charged correctly when you make a purchase.
3. Select your desired ticket. Before completing the purchase, you will have the option of buying the ticket for personal or business use.

You can buy tickets online and via the SBB Mobile app up until a few minutes before the train departs. 

Please note that international tickets are only partially available online for printing yourself or for displaying in the SBB Mobile app. We recommend ordering international tickets on sbb.ch/en/business three working days before your journey at the latest. You need a separate login to purchase certain tickets to other European destinations.

Tickets for Switzerland: 60 days in advance at the earliest. 

International tickets: some up to 6 months in advance.

Yes. Enter the first name, surname and date of birth of the passenger in the corresponding input boxes. You can forward the ticket to the person travelling by e-mail.

Standard fare tickets.

Exchangeable tickets such as tickets for TGV Lyria at the standard fare.

1. First buy your entire journey in 1st class applying the ‘GA 1. cl. 1 year / GA subscription’ reduction (in step 2 ‘Passengers’), even if you hold a 2nd class GA Travelcard. Complete your purchase.
2. Then buy a separate, route-specific class upgrade applying the ‘Half-Fare travelcard’ reduction for the journey in Switzerland to / from the border station (‘Tickets Switzerland’ > ‘Class upgrades’ > ‘Class upgrades (route-specific)’).

Special fare tickets.

Non-refundable tickets, such as supersaver tickets.

1. First buy your entire journey in 1st class applying the ‘GA 1. cl. 1 year / GA subscription’ reduction (in step 2 ‘Passengers’), even if you hold a 2nd class GA Travelcard.
2. You do not need an additional class upgrade for supersaver tickets for Europe.

Exceptions: 

• If your 1st class supersaver ticket is valid from e.g. Zürich HB, and you start your journey in Thalwil, you need an additional class upgrade for the journey from Thalwil to Zürich HB.
• TGV (France) and EC (Italy): you need a route-specific class upgrade with a ‘Half-Fare travelcard’ reduction for any journey to the station where you board the TGV or EC (‘Tickets Switzerland’ / ‘Class upgrade’ / ‘Class upgrade (route-specific)’).

Example: journey from St. Gallen–Zürich HB–Paris (journey with TGV from Zürich HB)

1. Zürich HB–Paris: with ‘GA 1. cl, 1 year / GA subscription’ reduction.
2. St. Gallen–Zürich HB: route-specific class upgrade for Switzerland.

To purchase a travelcard, you will need an up-to-date, high-quality, colour digital passport photo(?)Show note photoChecklist to evaluate the photo: front view; width of face min. 20mm (max. 35mm); eyes open, and not hidden for wearers of spectacles; solid background and regular lighting (no shadows); sharp and contrasting photo. Additional criteria for digital photos: image size min. 200×250 pixels, file size max. 2,000ko (JPG). Set the colour to RVB mode. If you already have a SwissPass, you can conveniently upload your digital photo to swisspass.ch.Close note of the person travelling. If you already have a SwissPass, you can upload your digital photo easily at swisspass.ch.

Note: you can only upload photos to swisspass.ch if the SwissPass account used is linked to a customer number. You cannot upload a photo for another person.

Yes, you can reserve seats for journeys within Switzerland online at sbb.ch/en/business and via the SBB Mobile app. You can reserve up to five seats yourself. Trains with seats that can be reserved are marked with the letter “R” under the notes in the timetable. When making a reservation via the app, you must enter the surname, first name and date of birth for every person travelling.

Please call the Business Travel Service Center to make the following reservations:

• Seat reservations for more than five passengers.
• Seat reservations for the SBB dining car.
• Seat reservations for national routes on international trains (e.g. EC, ICE, TGV).

You can reserve seats for international journeys directly online during the ticket purchasing process. If you are assigned a seat that doesn’t match your preferences, e.g. a window seat instead of an aisle seat, it means there are no more of your preferred seats available.

For foreign guests, you can either purchase normal tickets from the standard range or buy tickets from the Swiss Travel System range. Swiss Travel System is explicitly for guests from abroad. Find out more about Swiss Travel System:

Does Swiss Travel System have a special discount for group journeys? 

If you are expecting a group of more than 10 people, please book your group journey online.

If you have questions about group travel or if online booking is not possible, please contact the Business Travel Service Center.

Your payment method is defined in the contract between your company and SBB. Companies have the option of storing multiple payment methods. Contact your company’s travel manager if you are unsure. 

The payment method stored by the company will be automatically charged during an online purchase. Exception: if you are paying with a business credit card, enter this in your profile under “Payment method” before making your first purchase. The same credit card can be entered by more than one employee.

A ticket purchased online via sbb.ch/en/business or in the SBB Mobile app counts as an expense receipt. No separate expense receipts are issued. The person at your company responsible for the contract / invoicing can download a breakdown of all purchases in SBB Businessmanager.

The travel manager for your contract can generate VAT receipts every quarter in SBB Businessmanager.

You can present your ticket directly on your device (confirmation email, directly in your account on sbb.ch/en/business or also in the SBB Mobile app for some tickets). Alternatively, you can print your ticket out. Please note that certain offers must be printed (e.g. some tickets to Europe). 

When buying tickets online, you can choose between the following purchase options:

• ticket to be displayed on your device.
• ticket to print out.

Certain tickets to Europe must be physically sent/received. When buying tickets online, you can choose between the following purchase options:

• Collection from the station.
• Delivery by post.

Important: tickets for certain routes which involve certain network areas, private railways or bus operators may not be available online. If this is the case, order your ticket by telephone via the Business Travel Service Center.

If you are unable to download a ticket purchased online using the download link shown to you on the website, you can click on the download link in your confirmation e-mail and download it there. If you have not received an e-mail, make sure you entered your e-mail address correctly and check the confirmation e-mail isn’t in your spam folder.

If you are logged in on sbb.ch/en/business, you will find the “Orders” option in the menu in the top right. Select the relevant ticket there. You can open and download it again at any time.

Tickets purchased online are personal, non-transferable and only valid in conjunction with a valid form of official ID belonging to the person travelling (passport, ID card, driving licence). If you have a Half Fare Travelcard or a GA Travelcard, this also counts as a valid form of ID.

Tickets are only valid on one calendar day for each journey. Furthermore, the days of travel must be specified at the time of purchase. It is not possible to change your journey or exchange your ticket after purchasing. Fare network tickets purchased online may have a different validity period (e.g. 2 hours, 24 hours, etc.).

Germany and Austria.

Tickets purchased online (standard fare) that you have printed out yourself are valid on the chosen day of travel and the following day. Tickets purchased from SBB staff and printed on security paper are valid for two days. 

If you would like a ticket on security paper, you can still buy these online on business.sbb.ch. Before payment, you can choose how your ticket is issued. If you choose for your tickets to be sent by post or issued at a ticket counter, your tickets will be printed on security paper.

Please note that supersaver tickets are only valid on the day and the train you book (train-specific).

France.

TGV tickets are only valid on the train you book. Unless otherwise stated, tickets for French regional trains (TER) are only valid for travel on the booked train.

Italy.

All tickets are only valid on the day and the train you book (train-specific).
Exception: tickets for regional trains are usually valid for one day but are not train-specific.

Yes. You can also use your travelcard privately in your free time.

No. Tickets purchased online are personal and non-transferable. For this reason, you must present a valid form of personal ID (passport, ID card, driving licence) during ticket inspection. If you have a Half Fare Travelcard or a GA Travelcard, this also counts as a valid form of ID.

Important: please always present your Half Fare Travelcard or GA Travelcard as well as your ticket. 

That is possible. You can find your ticket under ‘Orders’ or in the confirmation e-mail itself. In the SBB Mobile app, you will find your tickets directly on the home screen.

You have three options:

• Option 1: if you bought the ticket yourself you can access it here on sbb.ch/en/business or in most cases via the SBB Mobile app. If someone else bought the ticket for you, ask them if they can forward you the ticket.
• Option 2: you can have the ticket you bought online printed out at a ticket counter for a fee of CHF 5. This means you won’t have to buy another ticket or make a refund request subject to a fee.
• Option 3: you can buy another ticket from a ticket machine or at a ticket counter before your chosen public transport service departs. It will be charged to your private payment method. You can have the unused ticket that you purchased online refunded. To do so, fill out a refund request form. A processing fee will be charged for the refund.

If you are unable to present a valid ticket to the ticket inspector, you will have to buy a ticket on the spot. If this is the case, a surcharge is usually levied. If you are on a public transport vehicle with self-service validation (e.g. S-Bahn trains, urban public transport, etc.) and are unable to present a valid ticket during a spot check, you will be considered to be making a journey without a valid ticket and will be punished accordingly. 

If you have lost or forgotten your SwissPass card, we offer the following solutions:

• If you have left your SwissPass at home or at work, we can issue you a temporary card that is valid for two days for a fee of CHF 5 at any ticket counter.
• If you have lost or damaged your SwissPass card, you can order a replacement card online. To do so, you will first have to enter your customer number XXX-XXX-XXX-X and your post code. You then pay the replacement fee of CHF 30 using your usual payment method. Alternatively, you can purchase the replacement card at a staffed counter. 
  

Please note that the replacement card must be paid for privately and cannot be charged to the company contract.

Yes, if the ticket purchased via SBB Business Customers was not used or was only partially used. Please note that supersaver tickets and Saver Day Passes, as well as other special offers, generally cannot be refunded. For all other refund requests, please use the refund request form. 

No. Business customers benefit from the sales-discount model when they purchase GA Travelcards via the company contract. For this reason, GA Travelcards purchased via SBB Business Customers cannot be deposited.

All data is sent in an encrypted format (SSL) and is only used to create and issue tickets. You can find further information in SBB’s privacy policy.
