Automatic renewal.

When you purchase a GA Travelcard, you take out an indefinite contract. The advantage of this is that your travelcard will be automatically renewed once the validity period of one year is over. Your SwissPass card is valid for several years and your travelcard is automatically renewed on the same card.

Minimum contract term.

All GA Travelcards have a minimum contract term of six months. You can decide whether you would like your travelcard to remain valid past this point, or whether you would like to cancel it at the end of the travelcard month – subject to the one-month notice period for cancellation.

Cancellation reminders.

We will remind the person who ordered the travelcard and the finance manager at the company about the cancellation deadline well ahead of the automatic travelcard renewal. 

Cancellation at the end of the travelcard year.

The cancellation deadline is one month before the end of the current travelcard year. This gives you enough time to ask the finance or contract manager to cancel your GA Travelcard.  The person who is responsible for invoicing or contracts at the company can cancel the travelcard at any time in SBB Businessmanager under ‘Travelcards’.  

Cancellation during the travelcard validity period.

Travelcards that are currently valid can be cancelled using the refund form once the six-month minimum contract term is over. You can then cancel your GA Travelcard at any time. The cancellation will come into effect at the end of the following month. The notice period for cancellation is one month.

You will receive confirmation of the cancellation and information about the last day of validity for your travelcard.

If you don’t yet have a SwissPass card, you will be sent one by post within around 10 days. If your travelcard is set to be valid before these 10 days, you can use a temporary SwissPass for your upcoming travels. This will be sent to you by e-mail together with the purchase receipt.

If you already hold a SwissPass card, your new travelcard will be loaded directly onto your card.

If you have lost or forgotten your GA Travelcard, we offer the following solutions:

• If you have left your GA Travelcard at home or at work, we can issue you a temporary card that is valid for two days for a fee of CHF 5 at any ticket counter.
• If you have lost your GA Travelcard or the card is damaged, you can order a replacement card online. You first need to enter your customer number XXX-XXX-XXX-X and your post code. You then pay the replacement fee of CHF 30 using your usual payment method. Alternatively, you can purchase the replacement card at a staffed counter. Please note that the replacement card must be paid for privately and cannot be charged to the company contract.

Your GA Travelcard entitles you to a 15% discount when you hire passenger cars or utility vehicles from Europcar in Switzerland.

Discounts on day trips with RailAway.

You will receive a discount on RailAway combined offers with your GA Travelcard. If you show your GA Travelcard at the ticket counter, you will be given a voucher for the discount, which you simply show at the ticket counter or till of the appropriate service provider. GA Travelcard discounts are only guaranteed if specifically stated by RailAway.

Access to the lounges of the Railteam partners (GA Travelcard in 1st class).

Your GA Travelcard in 1st class along with a valid international ticket gives you access to some Railteam lounges with free beverages, WLAN and a separate rail counter. Access is valid only on the day of travel (specified by the travel date on the ticket).
