The zone system applies for all tickets within the entire Ostwind network area. The zone plan shows you how many adjoining zones (areas) you must pay for to go from A to B. Irrespective of whether you are travelling by train or bus – all types of public transport are included in the price of the zones you have paid for within the period of validity.

Single journeys.

When you buy a multiple-journey ticket with 6 individual tickets for single journeys to be validated as needed, you’ll save 8%.

Return trips.

For outward-and-return trips via the same route, a day pass is the right ticket for you. 6 day passes can be purchased as a multiple day pass at an 8% discount.

9-Uhr-Tageskarte (1-day travelpass, valid from 9am).

The «9-Uhr-Tageskarte alle Zonen» (1-day travelpass, valid from 9am for all zones) for just 20 francs (for adults with a Half Fare travelcard/for children aged 6 to 16) or 40 francs (for adults without a Half Fare travelcard) is the lowest priced ticket for day trips within the Ostwind fare network. 

Travel everywhere with the Half Fare travelcard.

If you hold a Half Fare travelcard, you benefit from reduced prices for individual tickets, multiple-journey tickets, day passes, multiple day passes as well as group tickets for the Ostwind fare network, but not for monthly and annual travelcards.

Outside the network area.

For journeys beyond the borders of the network, network tickets are only valid up to the last timetabled stop within the zones purchased. The network tickets are not valid in SBB trains that do not stop in the zones paid for.

The availability of connecting tickets depends on the place of purchase. The correct connecting ticket can be conveniently purchased online.

Ostwind (OTV) and Vorarlberg (VVV) fare network.

Cross-border OTV-VVV tickets are only available within the area of validity (see zone map). In the rest of the OTV area you can purchase a VVV 1-day travelpass.

Ostwind (OTV) and the Principality of Liechtenstein (FL) combined travelcards.

For cross-border travel to the Principality of Liechtenstein, a combined travelcard (monthly or annual travelcard) is available for a fixed supplement. Along with the Ostwind zones covered by your ticket, the area of validity includes the entire route network of bus and rail services in the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Ostwind (OTV) and Hegau-Bodensee (VHB) fare network combined offers.

For local border traffic from the Kreuzlingen agglomeration to Constance and onward to the Hegau-Bodensee (VHB) fare network, you can take advantage of the Ostwind-VHB combined offer. With a single ticket, you can make use of all rail and bus services on either side of the border within the purchased combination of zones.

Only tickets and travelcards for zone 256 entitle you to free use of public transport in the “Constance Cityzone”. You must purchase a combined ticket for all other cross-border journeys. The fare limit for the validity of Ostwind zone 256 on bus route 908 is Constance station (Schweizer Bahnhof and Marktstätte stops).
