Seats in the dining car.

You can reserve seats in the SBB Restaurant online at sbb.ch/business up to one day before departure for CHF 5 per seat. You will receive a reservation confirmation, which you must present on the train. We will deduct the CHF 5 paid from your purchase in the SBB Restaurant. 

Important note: There is a requirement that you buy food and/or drink in the dining car. If no order is placed, staff reserve the right to reallocate the reserved seat to other guests who are ordering food or drink.

Seats on tourist trains. 

For seat reservations on MOB tourist trains, please contact the Businesstravel Service Center. You can easily book all other tourist trains, such as the Gotthard Panorama Express, the Bernina Express (RhB), the Lucerne–Interlaken Express and all long-distance services operated by SOB, via the coach plan in the online timetable.

Bike spaces.

You may load bicycles and e-bikes on most trains operated by SBB and private railway companies as well as most postbuses if you have a valid bike ticket. From 21 March to 31 October, bicycle space reservations are compulsory on many InterCity (IC) trains. 

Here’s how it works:

1. Go to sbb.ch/business.
2. Select your desired route, time and travel date in the timetable.
3. Click on ‘Select tickets’.
4. If you would like to make a reservation for more than one person, click on the pencil symbol and enter/select the additional passengers.
5. If you wish to reserve a seat without purchasing a ticket, scroll down to ‘Additional services’ and select ‘Seat reservation only’.
6. To choose your seat, click on ‘Seat reservation’ and then on ‘Select seat’. Select your preferred seat on the coach plan.
7. Click on ‘Accept’ and complete the purchase.

• Select your desired connection and click on ‘Purchase ticket’. You can find seat reservations under ‘Additional offers’.
• Reserve up to nine seats at a time via SBB Mobile. All the seats are displayed in the app. If you would like to make a reservation for multiple people, tap on ‘Edit passengers’ (pencil icon) and enter/select the additional passengers. 
• To choose your seat, click on ‘Seat reservation’ and then on ‘Select seat’. Select your preferred seat on the coach plan.

If you cannot book a seat online, you can easily do so by telephone via the Businesstravel Service Center on 0848 111 456 (local rate). You will receive the reservation documents by post within three working days.

Seats on trains to Europe. 

When reserving seats for train journeys to Europe, different prices and provisions apply according to the country in question. You can find more detailed information for some European countries below.

Seats in the dining car.

Depending on your destination and the railway company, you can reserve seats for individuals or groups in international dining cars.

You can reserve your seats when you purchase tickets here on sbb.ch/business or via the SBB Mobile / Preview app. Seat reservations for day-time connections are not obligatory but recommended. Reservations are obligatory for night trains.

Seat reservations are obligatory on TGV services and these are included in the ticket price. You can buy the tickets here on sbb.ch/business or via the SBB Mobile / Preview app and conveniently print them out yourself. To choose your seat in first class, click on ‘Seat reservation’ and then on ‘Select seat’. Select your preferred seat on the coach plan.

Seat reservations are obligatory on EC Switzerland–Italy trains and high-speed trains within Italy. They are included in the price of the ticket. You can buy the tickets here on sbb.ch/business or via the SBB Mobile / Preview app and conveniently print them out yourself. Seat reservations for regional trains within Italy are not available. To choose your seat in first class, click on ‘Seat reservation’ and then on ‘Select seat’. Select your preferred seat on the coach plan.
