With the BonusPass, employers enable their employees to purchase a discounted ZVV or Z-Pass annual travelcard. The employer pays a fixed contribution for each travelcard. Employees pay a reduced price for the zones they need for their journey to work. The BonusPass is always valid in all zones of the ZVV or Z-Pass area of validity.

The BonusPass Flex is ideal for employees who only use public transport one or two days a week. It is valid on 100 freely selectable days within one year in all zones of the ZVV or Z-Pass area of validity.

The BonusPass is available either as an annual travelcard or there is a flexible version valid for 100 freely selectable days per year (BonusPass Flex).

Employees who live and work within the area of validity of the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV) require a ZVV BonusPass.

If, on the other hand, their place of residence or work lies within a neighbouring fare network – for example, in the A-Welle, Ostwind or Schwyz/Zug fare network areas – the employee will receive a Z-BonusPass instead.

Employees whose place of residence lies outside the aforementioned fare networks can also benefit from a BonusPass. In such cases, the travelcard is offered for the ‘All zones’ tariff.

Your BonusPass will be issued no earlier than 30 days and no later than 5 days before its first day of validity. Please note the order deadline of 5 days, which starts from the approval by your employer. Orders placed at short notice are processed subject to availability.

It is the responsibility of the employee/passenger to ensure that they have a valid BonusPass prior to departure. If you start your journey without a valid ticket, you will be registered as a “passenger without a valid ticket”. No fees arising from this will be refunded retrospectively.

No. BonusPasses cannot be issued retrospectively. This means any additional tickets purchased will not be reimbursed. If the order is received at short notice, the BonusPass will be issued from the date on which it was processed at the service centre.

Your staff number will be listed on the company invoice. 

The BonusPass is issued on the SwissPass. If you already have a SwissPass card, the travelcard will be referenced on it. If you do not yet have a SwissPass card, you will receive it by post five to ten days after receiving the invoice.

The BonusPass is valid in all zones of the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV). If the place of residence or work is located in one of the neighbouring fare networks, the travelcard’s validity is automatically extended to all zones of the corresponding Z-Pass area of validity.

Example: An employee lives in Baden (Z-Pass A-Welle) and works in Zurich (ZVV). The Z-BonusPass therefore covers all zones of the Z-Pass A-Welle.

The validity of the travelcard is not printed on the SwissPass card. Here’s how to check your travelcard’s validity:

• Scan the card’s QR code at the ticket machine.
• In your SwissPass account at swisspass.chLink opens in new window..
• In the SBB Mobile app.
• In the ZVV app.
• On the invoice / purchase receipt.

The days can be activated either in your SwissPass account or in the ZVV App. Log in with your SwissPass login and activate the BonusPass Flex for the relevant day under ‘Travelcards’. There is an overview of activated days in the same section. Future travel days can be planned in advance.

An activated travel day can be deactivated until midnight on the day before you travel. The status then changes to ‘Valid’ and it cannot be deactivated.

An activated day entitles the holder to travel on all ZVV public transport and/or the respective Z-Pass corridor from 12 midnight to 5am on the following day.

The route from your place of residence to your place of work is decisive for the calculating the price. You will only be charged for the zones you use to commute to work. The nearest stops are determined on the basis of the addresses given in the order. Applicable here are the fastest and most frequent connections according to the currently valid connection lists of the ZVV or the Z-Pass partnership. It is not possible to specify additional desired zones when ordering the BonusPass. Important: Zones 110 and 120 are always counted twice.

No. With the BonusPass, you cannot specify a personal preference for the number of zones. The place of residence and place of work are the deciding factors.

Up to one day before your 25th birthday. The Junior price is only available for 2nd class. If you would like a BonusPass for 1st class, you pay the adult fare.

The size of the discount depends on the discount model chosen by your company. You can download the price sheets for the different discount models at sbb.ch/en/bonuspass.

The automatic upgrade to all zones is free of charge for you.

Please note that the percentage discount for the ‘Discount 15’, ‘Discount 25’, ‘Discount 35’ and ‘Discount 50’ models is generally applied to ZVV travelcards with two or more zones. The discounts granted for travelcards combined with fare networks neighbouring ZVV are lower.

SBB will send the invoice by e-mail to the e-mail address specified in your SwissPass account.

No. A payment agreement is not possible for the BonusPass.

No. You must pay the invoice using the QR payment slip provided. Payment cannot be made at the ticket counter.

Complaints regarding the correctness of the invoice must be made to the BonusPass Service Centre within ten days of receipt of the invoice using the contact form.

If the outstanding bill is not paid by the final deadline, the employee invoice amount will be charged to the employer. After this transfer, invoicing is managed within the company.

After transfer to the employer, no further BonusPass invoice reminders will be sent to you. This means that the credit balance from the late payment will be reimbursed to you. Please enter your IBAN number in your SwissPass account for any reimbursements.

Yes. Please use the refund form. Please note the refund conditions in that form. 

If you purchase a GA Travelcard, the BonusPass will be refunded pro rata. Buy your GA Travelcard first, then fill in the refund form.

If you change your address and need to adjust the number of zones for your journey to work, you can apply for an exchange. To do this, first enter your new address in your SwissPass account and then place a new order using the order tool. Once you have received the invoice for the new BonusPass, you can apply for a pro rata refund of the previous travelcard using the refund form.

Have you accidentally ordered a Z-BonusPass instead of a ZVV BonusPass or vice versa? Apply for the correct BonusPass via the order portal. Once you have received the invoice for the new BonusPass, use the refund form to apply for a refund for the travelcard that has already been issued. If the travelcard is already active, it will be refunded pro rata from the first day of validity of the new travelcard.

No. It is not possible to reverse a cancellation once it has been actioned.

Enter your IBAN in your SwissPass account. The refunded credit will be transferred to the specified account within 10 days of travelcard expiry.

No, the BonusPass is not renewed automatically. The BonusPass must be renewed every year and approved by the employer. 

A reminder with the order link for applying for a new BonusPass will be sent by e-mail four to six weeks before the existing BonusPass expires.  

If you have deleted the e-mail or can no longer find it, you can also get the order link from your employer.
